My name is Olivia Erkan. I grew up Reno, NV; a unique city known for gambling and it’s proximity to Lake Tahoe. Growing up I was always creating and naturally fell into a high school graphic design program but it just wasn’t that perfect fit. When I was exploring colleges I came across SCAD and when I saw their Fashion program I knew that’s where I had to be. After years of late nights and my apartment bedroom and zoom calls becoming my campus, graduation came. I moved to New York with my best friend and got a paid internship with Li and Fung where I learned all things fashion industry. When my contract was done I wanted to find something else. Eventually that became Fleur du Mal where I took an unpaid internship just to keep busy. After 6 working days I was given the opportunity to be in the running to be the next Assistant Designer. When I got the position I was overjoyed, this is what I had been working towards. 8 months later, due to restructuring of the design team, my position was no longer needed and I was let go. Now, I’m back on the hunt for my next great opportunity.
